Grading Period 1, Weeks 1 and 2 (Due 9/4)

Grading Period 1, Week 3 (Due 9/11)

A sixth-grade class sells Yankees pennants and American Flags.  They earn $1 profit for each pennant sold and $6 for each flag sold.  They sell items at a total of $92. 
 1) How many flags did they sell if they sold 20 pennants?  

2) Create a different scenario of the amount of each item they could sell to equal $92.00  An example would be 1 flag and 86 pennants. 

Grading Period 1 Week 4 (Due 9/18)

The Booster Club hired a hip hop group for a fund-raiser.  The club guaranteed the group a fee of $1500 plus $4.50 for each ticket sold.  There are 1,132 seats in the auditorium.  What is the greatest possible amount of money the band can earn for a performance?  The least amount?






booster club is an organization that is formed to support (e.g. coordinate events, raise money, etc.) an associated club, sports team, or organization.

Ben was a salesman at a car dealership where he made $10 per hour and $50 for every sale he made.  David worked at the same job and got paid $20 per hour.  If Ben worked 10 hours and sold 2 cars in a week, how many hours would David have to work to make more money than Ben?

Would you rather have a contract like Ben's or like David's?  Why?
