A sixth-grade class sells Yankees pennants and American Flags. They earn $1 profit for each pennant sold and $6 for each flag sold. They sell items at a total of $92.
1) How many flags did they sell if they sold 20 pennants?
2) Create a different scenario of the amount of each item they could sell to equal $92.00 An example would be 1 flag and 86 pennants.

ReplyDeleteThe class sold 12 flags if they sold 20 pennants. They made $92 and sold $20 worth pennants. There was $72 so I divided 72 by 6 (the profit per flag) to get 12. A different example would be if the class sold 5 flags and 62 pennants. BOOM
Great answer! You are the first on line correct answer!! 5 bonus points will be added to your grade!!

ReplyDeleteThe class had to sell 12 flags because 20 pendants cost $20 so $20 minus $92 equals $72 dollars. Then $72 divided $6 would be 12 so 12 Flags were sold.
An example would be 6 flags and 60 pendants.

ReplyDeleteThe class sold 12 flags. They made $92 in profit,$20 coming from pennants sales, leaving $72 in flag sales. When u divide 72 by 6 you get 12 flags sold.
An example would be 4 flags and 68 pennants.
Jackson 3 The sixth grade class sold 12 flags because they made $20 in pennants. Every flag is $6 so $6x12 is 72. And $72+20 is $92. An example is 3 flags and 42 pennants.

ReplyDeleteThe sixth grade class sold 12 flags because if they sold 20 pennants they made $20 dollars. So every flag cost $6 so multiply 6 by 12 and you get 72.Then you add 20 + 72 you get 92. Another example is 5 flags and they sold 62 pennants.

ReplyDeleteThe sixth grade class sold 12 flags. They made $20 in pennants. The flags were $6 i multiplied $6 x 12 which is 72. Then $72 + 20 is $92. A example is 3 flags and 74 pennants.
England 1 The class sold 12 flags because they had sold 20 pennants so they would get $20 and each flag was $6 so 12x6 which equal 72 then 72+the 20 pennants is 92.one example is 5 flags and 62 pennants.

ReplyDeleteThe class sold 12 flags because 92-20=72 and then 72/6 is 12 so therefore theres 12 flags. and a example is 7 flags and 50 pennants.

72 flags because if you subtract 92 by 20 profits also known...(92-20=72). So the answer is 72.
ReplyDeleteA example is 86 profits and one flag. Also known (86+6=92).

6 flags and 32 pennants would be an example
DeleteIf they sell 20 pannants then they'll sell 12 flages, because 12x6=72 and there is $1 for every pennant so 1x20 is 20 and 72+20=92. That's how I got my answer. An example will be 2flags for 43 pennants

ReplyDeleteif they sell 20 pennants then they'll sell 12 flags. what i did to get this answer is i first subtracted 92$ form $20 and got $72. then divided 72 by 6 which is 12. so that means you would have 12 flags and 2- pennants.
a diffrent emaple woulde be 6 flags and 32 pennants.
