Grading Period 1 Week 5 (Due 9/25)

This is a two part question
If you buy 5 candy bars and a bag of $4.00 gummy worms, the variable expression 5c + 4 represents the total cost of the purchase.

1) If your bill came to $21.00 how much did each candy bar cost?

Suppose the next day you went back to the store and bought 3 DVDs and a video game for $30.  2) Write a variable expression to represent this purchase

    (1) Each bar of candy cost $3.40 because the gummy worms cost $4.00 so take $21.00 - $4.00 = $17.00. And $3.40 x 5 = $17.00. (2)3d+v= $30.

    -1- All five candy bars $3.40 each. If you multiply 3.40 times 5 then you get 17 and if you add 17 plus 4 you get $21. So 3.40 x 5=17 and 17 + 4 = $21. -2- 3 x J = 30.

    1. The five candy bars are $3.40 each. Multiply 3.40 x 5 = 17 plus 4 is $21.00. So.. 4.50 x 5 =17 plus 4, $21. (2)3c+z is 30.

  7. each candy bar would be $3.40. so times $3.40 by 5 and you will get 17 plus 4 is $21 so the equation would have to be 17+4=21 -2-3 x j=30 and that's how I got my answer.

    each candy bar is 3.40.
multiply 3.40 by 5 which equals 17 add 4 which would equal 21.
    the equation would be 17+4=21-2-3xj=30.

  9. Each candy bar is $3.40. If you multiply 5 times 3.40 then you would get 17. if you add 17+4=21.So the equation would be 17+4=21-2-3xj=30. miss England period 2

  12. 1.) I did 5c+4=21 , first I subtracted 4 from both sides than got 17 than I divided 5 from both sides and got c = 3.4 so the and is $3.40

    2.) The variable expression is 3d + v = 30

  14. 1. I did 4+5c=21, I subracted 4 from both sides. I got 17. I divided 5 from both side and got 3.4=c.The answer is $3.40.
    2. The vriable of the expression is 3d+v= 30
