Aliyah had 25 pieces of candy to start with. How I got this answer is that I took 4 and multiplied it by 2 and I got 8. Then what I did was I added 8 to 17 and got 25. This is how I got 25.

ReplyDeleteAliyah had 25 pieces of candy to begin with. First I took 17 and added 8 because Aliyah divides the rest of the candy between her 4 children. Each child got 2 pieces of candy. So 4 times 2 equals 8 and 8 plus 17 equals 25 pieces.

To start she had 4 kids each had 2 pieces each 4x2 =8pieces then you have to add the seventeen to the 8 pieces that the kids had.17+8=25 pieces so the total amount would be 25pieces she started with.
