Grading Period 2 Week 1 (Due 10/30)
Pick a concept or word that we have learned in Digits. Explain the concept/word in three or more sentences. Put the word or concept at the beginning of your reflection!
WRITE EQUATIONS AND INEQUALITIES : an equation is an mathematical sentence by putting an equal sign between two expressions. An inequality is a mathematical sentence made by putting a equal to,is less than,is equal to or less than, greater than ,is greater than or equal to sign
Square Root: A number multiplied by itself to get a quantity. As in 7 multiplied by 7 is 49 or 6x6 is 36. Or you can do 7 to the 2nd power which is the same as 7x7 or 6 to the 2nd power is the same as 6x6.
Jackson 7 How to do 2 step equations. When you do 2 step equation you have to first undo addition and subtraction. Then undo multiplication and division. Then it will equal x,y,z,a,b,c or what ever variable it is and it will equal the number you got or it could be the number you got equals the variable.

Jackson 2 To find the perimeter of a shape First you take or find the area. Then square root the area. Last you take the number you get and times it by 4 or how many sides the shape has.
Jackson 4 Square root: A number multiplied by its self, for example. The square root of 4 is 2. Why?, because when you multiply 2 by 2 or divided 2 by 4, it will equal 2.
Jackson 4: How to find the slope using two coordinate points:
To find slope of, for example, (2,4) & (5,6) you would use the formula y2 - y1 (over) x2 - x1 = m(slope). You'd then substitute them in. 6 - 4 = 2, 5 - 2 = 3. The slope would be 2/3.
How to solve algebraic equation. An algebraic equation is a math problem with letters in it. An example is n+6=11. You would have to do the opposite of adding which is subtracting so 11-6=n. 11-6=5 so there for n=5.
One concept I've learned in class is finding the slope of an equation. To find the slope, you have to subtract the y coordinates over the x coordinates. Then divide the y coordinate by the x coordinate which would give you the slope.
A concept I have learned in class is how to find the slope by using two points. You have to use the formula y2-y1over x2-x1. Then you have to fill in the numbers and subtract. Then you will get your slope.
Jackson1 A concept i have learned in class is how to find the slope in x1 y1 x2 y2 form. The First Number In the first set is x1 and the second number is y1.Than You Do the same in the second set but using x2 and y2. Than You Set It Up in a fraction like this
2-1/3-2 and you get 1/1 and simplify it as 1 and thats your slope.
Jackson 7 A concept I've learned in class is how to use point-slope form to write an equation. First, you find the slope of the line. Then you write the equation in point-slope form, using either of the points on the graph. It won't matter which point you choose, both should have the same final answer.
Square root: A number multiplied by its self, for example. The square root of 4 is 2. Why?, because when you multiply 2 by 2 or divided 2 by 4, it will equal 2.
One concept I learned in class is square roots. You multiply it by itself. For instance, the square root of 25 is 5 because when you multiply 5 by 5 it equals 25.

Square Root:
ReplyDeleteA number multiplied by itself to get a quantity.
As in 8 times 8 is 64.
But you can also do 8 to the 2nd power and is the same.

ReplyDeleteEXPONENT
a exponent is a number that times itself.
for EX: 6 to the power of 2 is 36.
and that is exponent for me.
