GP 3 Week 4 (Due 2/5/16)
In the old days there were elevator operators to transport passengers. Don Downs always started his day in the basement. He went up 20 floors to take his boss some coffee. Then he went down 8 floors to take a Danish to his friend. He went up 7 floors to check things out. This was the halfway point in the building. How many floors are in this building?

ReplyDeleteThere are 38 floors in the building. I got this answer by starting with 20. You subtract 8 from 20 which is 12,then add 7 to 12 which is 19,and multiply 2 by 19 and you get 38.

ReplyDeletemy answer is 38 floors. The way you find this answer is by first doing 20-8, you get 12 (20-8=12). Then you do 12+7 , you get 19 (12+7=19). Then to finally get your answer you multiply 2*19 and get 38.

ReplyDeleteSo first you do 20-8+7 and I got 19.
Since that is only halfway point of the building you have to multiple by 2.
There are 38 floors in the building.
there is 38 floors. The way you find this is by doing 20-8 you get 12 20-8=12 . Then you do 12+7 you get 19 12+7=19. to get your answer you multiply 2and19 and get 38.

There are 38 floors in the building.
So first you do 20-8=12 then you do 12+7=19.
ReplyDeleteThat is only half of the building. Then you have to multiple by 2. Which equals 38. So there are 38 floors in the building.

ReplyDeleteI got 38 floors for the answer. I got it by doing 20-8 =12. Next I did 7+12=19. Then I did 19•2=38

i did 20 floor 8+12 floor 1/2 way point in building 19 + 19=38 there are 38 floors in this building and that is how i got my answer.
First thing he did was go up 20 floors then went down 8floors. 20-8=12. Then he went up 7floors. 12+7=19.19times2 or 19+19=38 so the total amount of floors in this builing is 38 floors
ReplyDeleteThere are 38 floors in the building. I know this because 20 floors minus 8 floors equals 12 floors. 12 floors plus 7 floors equals 19 floors, this is the halfway point. So I multiplied 19 floors and 2 floors, which gave me 38 floors as my final answer.

ReplyDeleteThere are 38 floors in the building. I found out my answer by doing 20 - 8 = 12. Don is at the 12th floor at this point. Then, Don went up 7 floors, so 12 + 7 = 19. the 19th floor is the halfway point of the building, so 19 x 2 = 38. There are 38 floors in the building.
There are 38 floors in the building. I found this out by subtracting the 20 floors and the 8 floors to get 12 floors. Then added the 12 floors and 7 floors to get 19 floors. Then multiplied the 19 floors and 2 floors to get 38 floors in total.

There are 38 floors i know this by doing 20-8+7=19 then adding 19+19=38 total floors.
ReplyDeleteDons job had 38 floors.I found my answer by subtracting 8 from 20 , and got 12 then plus 7 equal 19 and that was the halfway point so you multiply it by 2 and get 38

He started on floor 0 then he traveled 20 floors up. He went down to get coffee 8 floors. So right now he is on floor 12.Now he went up 7 floors. Now he should be at floor 19. Since he reached the halfway point, you times 19 by 2 which equals 38 floors in total.

For my answer i got is 38 floors in the building. i subtracted 20 with 8 which got me 12. Don went up 7 floor so i added 7 to 12 getting 19 and the 19th floor is half of the building so i multiplied by 2 getting 38.

DeleteTime is up. Blog week 4 will be past due when you write your answer on paper.
ReplyDeleteThere are 38 floors in the building. 8-20=12 . 7=12=19 then I multiplied by 2.
ReplyDeleteThere are 38 floors in the building.
ReplyDeleteI say to subtract 20 from 8 which equals 12 the 7=12=19 then multiply that by 2.

ReplyDeleteFirst he went up 20 floors and then he went down 8 floors 20-8=12. Then he went up 7 floors 12+7=19. Since it's 19 only half multiply 19 by 2 which equals 38.
