GP 3 Week 8 (DUE 3/3/16)
Joe's Taxi Service charges $1.50 for the first mile and $.90 for each additional mile. How far could Mr. West go if he had $20 and was going to give the driver a $2 tip?
So I did 1.50 times 90 and u get 135.Now we got to see who far can Mr. West Will go 20 time 2 it equal 40 then you do 40 times 135 then that equal 5400.
jesse hayes jackson 7 i did $20=$1.50 +.90m +$200 183 =m mr. west could go 18.3 miles with going a $2.00 tip to the cabbie and that is how i got my answer.
Mr west can go 18 miles. How I got my answer was I first subtracted $2 from the $20, since mr west is going to give a $2 tip. Which would equal $18. Then u subtracted $1.50 from $18. Since joe charges $1.50 for the first mile. Which would equal $16.50. Then I divided $16.50 by $.90. Which would be 18. So mr west can travel 18 miles.
Mr west can go 18 miles. How I got this was I first subtracted $2 from $20, since Mr. West is giving a $2 tip. It would equal $18. Then you subtract $1.50 from $18. Since Joe charges $1.50. Which would equal $16.50. Then I divided $16.50 by $.90. Which is 18, So Mr. West can travel 18 miles.
Mr West Can Go 18 miles. I got my answer by subrating his tip witch was $2 from $20 with is $18. After that i took 1.50 for the first mile from 18 witch is 16.5. Than I Divided 16.5 by .90 for the additional mile and the answer is 18 miles.
First i did 20-2 and got 18. Then i did 18-1.50 and got 16.50.last thing i did was 16.50 divided .90 and got 18.3. that means mr.west can go 18.3 miles.
Mr.West can go 18 miles before running out of money. First i did 20-1.50=18.50 then 18.50-2.00(tip)and got 16.50. then i tested a few numbers and found out that 0.90x18=16.20. so she will have .30 cents in change but not enough to go another mile.

Mr.west can go 18 miles for 18.6 $and still give a tip of 2 dollars.
ReplyDelete20.00-2.00=18.00
ReplyDelete18.00-1.50=16.5
16.50/0.90=18.3
18.3+1.50=9.3

ReplyDeleteSubtract 2 from $20 which equals $18 then subtract 1.50 from 18 which equals 16.50. Then divide $16.50 by $.90 which equals $18. the answer is $18
