  4. The Smiths' are ahead of the Jones by 20 miles and are traveling 50 miles. The Jones are traveling 60 miles. 60+20=80 80+50=130, In one hour and thirty minutes the Jones will catch up

  6. It will take the Jones 2 hours to catch up to the Smith's. I know this because for the Smith's 50 mph + 50 mph = 100 mph plus the 20 miles head start which equals 120 miles after 2 hours. For the Jones 60 mph + 60 mph = 120 miles after 2 hours.

  7. I think it is going to take the Jones family 1 hours and 30min to get close to the Smiths family. I got my answer by adding 20 and 60, I got 80. Then you add 80 and 50 and you get 130.

  8. It will take the jones 2 hours. I got my answer by multiplying 60•2=120 then I multiplied 50•2=100 and added 20 because there 20 miles ahead and got 120. So in 2 hours they will both be at 120 which means the jones caught up

I got my answer by multiplying 60*2=120 then I multiplied 50*2=100 and added 20 because the 20 miles. so in 2 hours they both will be at 120.

If the Jones catched up it would take 2 hours. This is because 50 x 50 is 100. Add the head start(20) which equal 120 mph. So in 2 hours he would catch up.

  12. I got 2 hours. I multiplied 60 by 2 and got 120 then 50 by 2 getting 100 and added 20 for the 20 miles. In 2 hours they will be at 120.

If the Jones caught up it would take 2 hours. This is because 50 x 50 is 100. Add the head start(20) which equal 120 mph. So in 2 hours they would catch up.

  15. It will take the Jones 2 hours to catch up to the Smith's. I know this because for the Smith's 50 mph + 50 mph = 100 mph plus the 20 miles head start which equals 120 miles after 2 hours. For the Jones 60 mph + 60 mph = 120 miles after 2 hours

  16. The jones will catch up in 2 hours because if the smiths are 20 minutes ahead of the jones and traveling at 50 mph, and 50+50=100 plus the 20 minutes they already travel is 120 and 60+60=120 so it will take them 2 hours

  17. It will take 2 hours for the Jones to catch up to the Smiths because 60+60=120 So 2 hours. Then also the Jones are going 50miles per hour 50+50+20(headstart)=2 hours Zack shumway 7th period

  19. It would take the Jones 2 hours to catch up to the Smith because I got my answer by adding 50+50=100 then added 20 = 120mph (for the smith)
I also added 60+60=120 ( for the Jones)
That's how I got my answer
