GP 3 Week 5 (DUE 2/12/16)

Tara and Sara are going to play a spinner game. These are the rules:

- Both Spinners are labeled 1 - 5

  • When it is a player's turn, you spin both spinners.
  • Add the 2 numbers that the spinner points to.
  • If the sum is odd, Tara wins even if it is not her turn.
  • If the sum is even, Sara wins even if it is not her turn.

Who has a better chance of winning?

  2. I think tara has a better chance to win because it said that 1-5 there are more odd numbers than even numbers. Tara has 1,3,5 and sara has 2,4.

I did all the possible chances that their were and added them all. Once I did that I seen there were 13 even and 12 odd.So that means Sara has a greater chance of winning

Tara is most likely to win because 1-5 there are only 2 even 2&4 the odd numbers are 1&3&5 there are 3 odd so 2 even vs 3 odd 2<3 so if we double that 4<6 so now Tara will most likely win.

  10. Tara has a better chance of winning. I know this because I added each numbers together. I ended up having more odd answers than even answers.

  11. Tara would have the better chance of winning. I figured this out by adding up each number. In total, it would be 2<3, making it be more odds than evens.

Tara has a better chance of winning compared to Sara. This is because both of the spinners are labeled 1-5, there are three odd numbers between 1-5 (1,3,5) and two even numbers (2,4). There are more odd numbers than even numbers, giving Tara the upperhand.

  14. There are 5 numbers, 1,2,3,4, and 5. If the there is an odd number then Tara wins, but if there is an even number Sara wins. Tara would have a better chance of winning because there are 3 odd numbers and there are only 2 even numbers. 3/5 > 2/5

  15. Tara would have a better chance of winning than Sara. Because there are 5 numbers. (1,2,3,4,5) if odd then Tara wins. If even Sara wins. So Tara would have a better chance of winning since there are 3 odd numbers and only 2 even numbers.

  19. Sara has a better chance of winning. You can add up more even numbers than odd Sara having 13 chances to win Tara only having 12.
