OR

Use at least three sentences to describe a concept or word that you learned in your math class this week.  You also may use the three sentences to describe something you do not understand.

  1. slope is a number= indicates steepness
    slope= dis divided time
slope of a line = vertical change divided by horizontal change

    slope of line (-2,3)+(0,6)
y to the exponent of 1 -y to the exponent of 2 divided by x to the exponent of 1 - y to the exponent of 2 = slope
    3 - 6 divided by -2 -o = -3 over -2 slope = 3 over 2
    up 3 over 2

slope is used to find the direction and steepness of a line.

To find (0,6) go to the 1st quadrant and stay on the y axis then go up 6 on the y axis.

To find (-2,3) go to the second quadrant go over 2 on the x axis and up 3.

  3. Slope is the vertical change over horizontal change. The equation of a line is y=mx+b. Point 1 is (-2,3) y is y1 and x is x1. Point 2 is (0,6) y is y2 and x is x2. The equation is 6-3 over 0-(-6). That equals y=3/2x+b. If you plug in one of our points for b, the answer i got is y=3/2x+6

Find the Equation of a Line Given That You Know Two Points it Passes Through. The equation of a line is typically written as y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

To find (0,6) go to the first quadrant and on the y axis go up 6 on the y axis.

To find (-2,3) go to the second quadrant go over 2 on the x axis and up 3.

  12. the slope or gradient of a line is a number that describes both the direction and the steepness of the line. ... The direction of a line is either increasing, decreasing, horizontal or vertical. A line is increasing if it goes up from left to right.

  15. To find the slope, you divide the diference of y2 and y1 over x2 and x1.

To find the slope for points (-2,3) and (0,6) you subtract 6 by 3 which equals 3. Then 0 by -2 which equals 2. So the slope is 3/2.

To find the slope you subtract y2 from y1 and divide that from x2 minus x1. TO find the slope of the points (-2,3) and (0,6) you subtract 6 minus 3 to get 3 then you subtract 0 minus -2 to get 2. You would then divide 3 and 2 to get 3/2 as the slope.

To get the slope you take the coordinates and subtract x1-x2 and y1-y2 and you can get the slope. so for (-2,3) and (0,6) you would take 3 from 6 and -2 from 0. From that you get the Coordinates (3,2) which would have you go up 3 on the graph then over to the right 2.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Jackson p.1 to find the slope you have to get the coordinets and then you subtract after that you can find the slope. so you have (-2,3)and(0,6)you would take 3 from the six -2 from 0 .after you do that you get coordinets (3,2) which would give you a et of 3 on the graph over to the fight 2

  20. To get the slope you take the coordinates x1,x2 and y1,y2. For this problem you will subtract 3 from 6 and -2 from 0. Then the final answer will be (3,2).

To be able to identify the slope first you have to know the equation of the line. Then you use y=mx+b to substitute the number in so you can solved the problem. First you have to use the slope formula with is y=mx+b to find the slopes m. m=3/2 .

    ReplyDelete
  22. To identify the slope you need to use the y=mx+b, where is M= Slope and B= Y-intercept. To find the slope of (-2,3) and (0,6) you do
    6-3= 3 and 0-(-2)= 2. The slope will be 3/2.

    2. TO find the slope of (-2,3) and (0,6) you have to do like a fraction and do 3-6 on top and bottom is -2-0. then at top you subtract and get -3 and bottom you get -2 then put them in a fraction both positive. so it would be like this 3/2.

  30. This week I learned how to play buzz. Buzz is the game where two people count but they get a number that they can't say, and you can't say the number or a multiple or a number that has the buzz number in it. Ex buzz number is 3 so you can't say 3,6,9,12,13,15,18,21,23.

  31. This week I learned how to play buzz. Suppose the players have counted up to 12, the next player will say "13," the next "Buzz" because 14 is a multiple of 7 and the next player would then say "15" the next "16," and the next would, of course, say "Buzz" because the figure 7 occurs in the number 17. If one of the players forgets to say "Buzz" at the proper time, he is out.

To find the slope when given two points, the equation is y2-y1 over x2-x1. For example, when given the points (-2,3) (0,6) you must solve 6-3 over 0-(-2). The answer to this problem would be 3/2.

You find the slope by doing y2-y1 over x2-x1.
So you do 6-3 over 0-(-2).The answer would be 3/2. It would be y=3/2x+6.
