Last year Jessica made 40 out of 50
ReplyDeleteThis year Jessica made 74 out of 100
if you take last year 40 over 50 + 40 over 50 = 80 out of 100
Jessica shot better last year by 690, she shot 80% last year to 7410 this year.

ReplyDeleteLast year she was making 40 shots out of 50 so I divided 50/40 and got 1.25. THis year she was making 74/100 so I did 100/74=1.35. Jessica is correct this year she is making more shots.
Last year, Jessica made 40 out of 50. This year, she made 74 out of 100. To make them equal, you have to times 50 by 2 which makes them equal to 100. 40 times 2 is 80. Last year she made 80 shots. this year, she made 74 shots. She is wrong because she shot better last year.

ReplyDeleteIf you divide the possible 50 shots that Jessica could have made last year by the 40 shots that she did make, you get 1.25.
Now if you divide the possible 100 shots she could have made by the 74 shots that she actually made this year you get 1.35.
Jessica is shooting better this year than last year so she is right.

ReplyDeleteJessica is shooting better this year.I got this by 50-40=10 and 100-74=23.So this year Jessica shot 23 free throws and last year she made 10 free throws.
Jessica shoots better this year then last year.you have to do these equations 50-40=10 and 100-74=23.So she shot 23 free throws and last year she made 10 free throws.
ReplyDeleteit will be 100-74=23 last year she made 10 freethrow shots last year and she made 23 shot this year and she has improved alot
ReplyDeleteThis answer is wrong. Please use a ratio and a percent to compare the amount of shots she made.
Deletelast year Jessica made 40 out of 50
ReplyDeleteThis year Jessica made 74 out of 100
if you take last year 40 over 50 + 40 over 50 = 80 out of 100
Jessica shot better last year by 690, she shot 80% last year to 7410 this year.

Jessica shoots better this year than she did last year. I know this because 50-40=10. I then subtracted 74 from 100 which equaled 23. She shot 23 free throws last year and last year she only made 10 free throws.

ReplyDeleteJessica shot 40 out of 50 last year, and 40 of 50 shots is 80%. Jessica only got 74 of 100 shots this year, and that's 74%. So no, Jessica isn't right.
Jackson p.1 Jessica shot 40 out of 50 last year and 40 of 50 shots is 80 percent . Jessica only got 74 of 100 shots this year and that 74 percent . so no Jessica is not right
ReplyDeleteJackson p.1 Jessica shot 40 out of 50 last year and 40 of 50 shots is 80 percent . Jessica only got 74 of 100 shots this year and that 74 percent . so no Jessica is not right

ReplyDeletejessica shot 40 out of 50 shots last year. This year she made 74 out of 100. So you do 50 times 2 and get 100 and then do 40 times 2 and get 80. So that means no she dib not make more shots this year then last year.

ReplyDeleteShooting 40 out of 50 shots, Jessica had missed 10. 40 out of 50 is a 80% score. So that means if she were to do that same as last year, she would need to shoot 80 baskets. Only missing 20 hoops would put her at the same score as last year. She missed 26, therefore she did not do better than last year. In fact, she did worse.

ReplyDeleteJessica made 40 shots last year out of 50. So I made a proportion and made 40/50 equal to 80/100. Then I looked at her scores from this year which are 74/100 and 74 is less than 80 therefore I figured out she did not have a higher score than last year she actually went down.

ReplyDeleteTwo words that I learned this week is the y intercept. I also learned about the slope of a line. These are two words I learned this week in math class.

ReplyDeleteIf she had made 40 of 50 last year you would have to multiply each side by 2. From then you would have 80 of 100 last year and 74 of 100 this year she would be wrong. This is because she had a better amount last year if the numbers were the same.

Last year Jessica shot 40 out of 50 shots last year. This year she made 74 out of 100. I did 50 time 2 and got 100 and 40 times 2 and got 80. Now I have her percentage from last year. That means she was wrong and scored better last year then this year
