GP 2 Week 7

Kris lined cans in two rows on a shelf and had one left over; she tried again using three rows, and then four rows. Each time she had one can left over. Finally, she tried five rows, and had none left over! What possible numbers of cans could she have been working with?

This is you when you find out the answer

  1. Kris is possible using an uneven number of cans and is trying to make even or not enough cans to mke it even so this means she is using 25 cans and sence the number of rows is five the cans are even.

3 rows, then 4, then five rows works out.

She would have 25 cans. 25 divided by 2 is 12 with a remainder of 1. 25 divided by 3 is 8 with a remainder of 1. 25 divided by 4 is 6 with a remainder of 1, but 25 divided 5 is 5 with no numbers remaining.

  15. I agree with Amanda because 25 divided by 5 equals 5 and then there would be none left over. Because 5 is an even number. That is why i agree with Amanda.

She was working 25 cans. If you put 25 cans on 2 shelves you would have 12 cans on each shelf and 1 would be left over. If you put 25 cans on 3 shelves you would have 8 cans on each shelf and 1 would be left over. If you put 25 cans on 4 shelves then you would have 6 on each shelf and 1 would be left over. If you put 25 cans on 5 shelves then you would have 5 cans on each shelf and 0 would be left over.

  18. She Would Have 25 Cans Because 5x5=25. 5 Rows Of Cans On Each Row. So The Cans Will Be Even On Each Self.

I got this answer because i multiplied 5 with 5 and got 25.
They had 5 rows and 5 cans.

  23. She dealing with odd number of 25 cans, because when she did 2 rows one left over which make it odd. When she did 3 rows still one left over which mean she have more than 15 cans or 9 cans or 3 cans so on. It's not even number because when she did 4th rows, one still left over. When she finally did 5 rows, it fit perfect. It could be 3 cans of 5 rows or 5 cans of 5 rows.

  31. Kris has 25 cans and on 2 shelves she had to have 12 on each shelf and one left over (12x2=24 of 25). Then 3 rows is 8 on each and had another left over can (8x3=24). Then 4 rows have 6 each and again, another left over can (6x4=24). To make it even she will need 5 rows of 5 cans to have no leftover cans (5x5=25 of 25).

    ReplyDelete
  32. Kris would have 25 cans because 25 cannot go into 2,3, and 4 evenly. 5 can be divided evenly into 25. Kris has 5 rows with 5 cans in each row.

  35. She had 25 cans because if you do 25 divided by 2 is is 12 with a remainder of 1. 25 divided by 3 is 8 with a remainder of 1.25 divided by 4 is 6 with a remainder of one but 25 divided by 5 is five even with no remainder. So she had 25 cans in all

Kris had 25 cans. How i got this is she had 5 cans in the 5 rows. This because 2,3,4 does not go into 25 evenly. So 5 times 5 equals 25.

Kris would have had 25 cans. she had them lined up in rows of five so 5 times 5 equals 25. this is my answer.

  39. Kris would have 25 cans because if you divide 25 by 2,3 and 4, it is going to be a number with a remainder. But, if you divide 25 by 5 it will give you a number with no remainder. Therefore, she had to have lined them up in 5's in 5 rows.

  40. Kris would have 25 cans. I found this out by dividing 25 by 2,3 and 4 its the number with a remainder. But if you divide 25 by 5 it will give you a number with no remainder. So she had to have them lined up in 5 rows of 5's.

  41. Kris would have had to have 25 cans. She would have 25 cans because if you were to divide 25 by 2,3, or 4 you would get a remainder of 1.If you divide 25 by 5 you would a solid 5 which means she would have had to have 5 rows of 5 England 5

kris will have 25 cans. how i got my answer is if u divide 25 by 2,3,or 4 there will be a remainder. so she would have to line them in rows of 5.

  44. Kris will have 25 cans the reason i have choose this answer is because, five times five is twenty five and because 2,3,4 do not go in to twenty five evenly even though 25 is not an even number 5 120 15 20 so that is five rows with none left over that is why i have chose that answer.
