GP 4 Week 6 (Due 5/18)
On Tuesday Shanice bought five hats. On Wednesday half of all the hats that she had were destroyed. On Thursday there were only 17 left. How many did she have on Monday?
per.3 Shanice had 29 hats.let h stand for how many hats shanice had . On Tuesday it said she bought five hats, so that would mean h+5. On Wednesday Half of of the hats she had were destroyed, so that would mean h+5/2. On Thursday she had only 17 left so that equals h+5/2=17. You use the PEMDAS ((),exponet,multiplication,division,addition and subtraction) you reverse the division for dividing two h+5/2=17 h+5/2*2=17*2 that would equal 34 and /2*2 would equal zero because they are both equal. h+5=34 then you - 5 from 34 and that would =29 so h=29 So Shanice had 29 hats of all.
