Use at least three sentences to describe a concept or word that you learned in your math class this week. You also may use the three sentences to describe something you do not understand.
$20,00 minus $2,00 tip equals 18.00
ReplyDelete$18.00 equals 1.50 plus .90 miles
$18.00 equals 1.50 plus 90 miles
minus 1.50 minus 1.50
16.50 equals .90 miles
.90 .90
18.33 equals miles
Mr.west could go 18.33 miles in the Taxi with a $2.00 tip.

ReplyDeleteHe has $20 and wants to give a $2 tip
20-2=18
$1.50 for the first mile
18-1.50=16.50
$.90 for each mile after
16.50/.90=18.3333333333
he could go 18.33 miles in the taxi while still being able to give the driver a $2 tip
He could travel 19 miles. If he starts off with 20 dollars and pays a 2 dollar tip, he only has 18 dollars left to spend. The first mile is $1.50 so I subtracted 1.50 from 18 and got $16.50. Then I divided 16.50 by .90.

He could 19 miles. I know this because if he begins with $20 and pays $2 tips he only has 18 dollars left to spend. The first mile will be $1.50 so I subtracted $1.50 from 18 and got $16.50. After that I divided $16.50 by .90.

ReplyDeleteMr. West could go 18 miles and still be able to give Joe a 2 dollar tip. The way I found this out was starting from the 20 dollars Mr. West has. Mr. West was planning on giving Joe a 2 dollar tip, in which he would have 18 dollars left. The first mile is $1.50, so that also gives him only $16.50 leftover. Each mile leftover for the remainder of miles of the taxi drive is 90 cents each. So, Mr. West could go 18 miles and pay the taxi driver $16.20 from the whole $20 before the ride. Luckily, Mr. West would have 30 cents leftover, or at least 3 cents if the taxi driver went 18.3 miles ($16.47).
first I did twenty minus the two dollar tip which is $18. then I did $18 minus the $1.50 for the first mile to get 16.50. after that I took the rest of the change joe had and divided it by $.90 to get 18.3 which how many miles joe could get with twenty dollars tip included.

He would travel 18 miles. I did 20-18 which equals 18. So i did 1.50+.90 and kept adding .90 to that util i got to 18. I stopped at 17.70 because i couldn't go add .90 more because i would go past 18. So he can go 18 miles with a 2 dollar tip.

ReplyDeleteThe answer would be 18.33 miles.i know this because 20 minus 2 is 18, 18 minus 1.50 is 16.50. then i divided that by 90.

england p.1.He traveled a total of 18 miles , because if you do 20-2 whitch gives you 18 then next you have to do 18-1.50 for that first mile which was 16.50 finally i took everything else and divaded it by .90 cents and got 18.33.

he would travel 18 miles. i 20-18 which equal 18. so i did 1.50+ 90 and kept adding . 90 to that until i got a final answer r of 18 . i stopped at 17.70 because you can not add 90 you would end up with anwser higher than 18 . so he got 18 miles with a two doller tip

ReplyDeleteI learned this week in math class about Supplementary and Complementary.
I learned how to remember Complementary and Supplementary for when I do angles.
So Supplementary is always 180 degrees and Complementary is always 90 degrees.
