GP 3 Week 5 Due 3/3

Tara and Sara are going to play a spinner game. These are the rules:

- Both Spinners are labeled 1 - 5

  • When it is a player's turn, you spin both spinners.
  • Add the 2 numbers that the spinner points to.
  • If the sum is odd, Tara wins even if it is not her turn.
  • If the sum is even, Sara wins even if it is not her turn.

Who has a better chance of winning?

OR

Use at least three sentences to describe a concept or word that you learned in your math class this week.  You also may use the three sentences to describe something you do not understand.

The person with the better chance of winning with one spin would Sara.
There are a total of 13 evens. There are also only 12 odds.
    13 > 12
    Evens win all the way.

Sara has a greater chance of winning because there are 12 odds and 13 evens. So Sara has a advantage over Tara. Sorry Tara *-*

  6. Sara would have a better chance. Since both of the spinners are labeled 1-5 each one would have 3 odd numbers (6 odd numbers total) and 2 even numbers (4 even numbers total). Meaning there is a 60% chance of landing on an odd number and a 20% chance of landing on an even number.

  14. This week we are learning about adding/subtracting and multiplying polynomial. A monomial is a number,a viable, or the product of a number and one or more variables with a whole number exponents. And a polynomial is a monomial or a sum of monomial, each Called a term of the polynomial.

  15. First I start by add all the numbers like this 1+1=2 1+2=3 1+3=4 and so on. Once I did that I got 13 evens and 12 odds. So Sarah has a better chance of winning.

  19. Sara would win with one spin. Here is why. There are 13 evens and only 12 odds. 13 is more than 12. So evens win

Sara would have a better chance wining because spinners are labeled 1-5. Well when 1-5 is the number they lable and the odd are 1,3,5, and evens are 2,4 who ever got odd number in this case win with is sara . that mean 60% chance of landing on an 1,3,5, and 20% chance of landing on an 2,4 . Well I don't thing this game is fair because who ever get the odd number in this case sure going to win.

3 things i learned this week is a increasing interval goes up. A decreasing interval goes down. A constant one is straigth.

  24. One thing I learned about this week was about common intervals. There are 3 different types constant, increasing, and decreasing. Constant intervals stay straight horizontally. Increasing intervals go upwards normally diagonal. Finally there are decreasing intervals which normally go diagonally downwards.

Something we learned this week in Algebra 1 is polynomials. Polynomials is an expression of more than one algebraic terms, especially the sum of several terms that contain different powers of the same variable. In mathematics, a polynomial is an expression consisting to variable / coefficients.
