Each week you will have a question that you must answer.
The questions are worth 10 points each. Those who answer the questions on this math blog will receive 2 extra credit points each week.
YOU MUST USE AT LEAST THREE SENTENCES TO EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWERS.

GP 3 Week 6 DUE 3/10
A picture that measures 12 cm by 18 cm is enlarged to 4 times its area. What are the new dimensions?
OR
Use at least three sentences to describe a concept or word that you learned in your math class this week. You also may use the three sentences to describe something you do not understand.
I saw that the dimensions were 12 cm by 18 cm. and it was 4 times bigger so I multiplied 12 times 4 and got 48. Then I multiplied 18 times 4 and got 72 so my new dimensions were 48 cm by 72 cm. Jackson 1 / Layeh Ai
The dimensions were 12 cm by 18 cm. and it was 4 times bigger so I multiplied 12 times 4 and got 48. Then I multiplied 18 times 4 and got 72 so the new dimensions were 48 cm by 72 cm.

i found that the dimensions were 12cm by 18cm .i also found that it was 4 times so i multiplied 12 times 4 and got 58 as a result . then i multipled 18 yimes 4 ans got a solution of 72 so the new demension are 48 cm by 72 cm
the dimensions that i found were 12 cm by 18 cm. i also found out that it was 4 times bigger so then i multiplied 12 by 4 that equaled 48. Then i multiplied 18 by 4 and got 72 so the new dimension is 48 cm by 72 cm. Mrs. ENGLAND PERIOD 1

The dimensions were 12 cm by 18cm. So it was 4x bigger. So I multiplied 4 by 12 and it got me to 58. Then I did 18 times 4 which equaled 2. So my new dimensions are 48 cm by 72 cm. - Kristinia Stewart p.4
i found that the dimensions were 12cm by 18cm. i also found that it was four times bigger so i multiplied 12 times 4 and got an answer of 48 . then i multiplied 18 times 4 and got a 72 result so in the end my dimensions are 48cm by 72cm

The dimensions are 12 cm by 18 cm, it was 4 times bigger so then I multiplied 12 times 4 and that was 48 after that I multiplied 18 times 4 and got 72 so then the new dimensions are 48 cm by 72 cm. Ianah Harris p. 4
The new dimensions are 48cm by 72 cm. I get the answer by multiply by 4 sence the dimension is 4 time the regular size. So what I did was I multiplied 12 by 4 then I get 48 After that I multiplied 18 by 4 that give me 72. So the new dimension is 48cm by 72cm.
One thing I learned this week was how to use square roots to solve quadratic equations. To do this you use the form ax tho the power of 2 + c=0. if there are two solutions equal d>0 then if it equals d=0 there is 1 solution and if it is d<0 there is no solution.
MAGGIE COOK PERIOD 7 A THING I HAVE LEARNED THIS WEEK IS ABOUT SLOPE INTERCEPT FORM AND I THINK IM GETTING BETTER AT GRAPHING THE POINTS . ALSO I LEARNED THIS WEEK IS USING INTERCEPTS IM LEARN A BIT MORE HOW TO MAKE THE X AND Y BETTER AND THIS WEEK I AM AMAZING AT REARANGING .
12 times 18=216 216 is the area before being enlarged. 216 times 4=864 the area after being enlarged. 24 times 36=864. 24x26 would be the new dimensions. Jackson Per 4

This week I learned how to graph in my calculator. First you need to put your equation in the y= part of the calculator. Then you press graph. You then have your graph. It is really easy and quick.
Jackson1 This week in math we learned how to graph in our calculators. First you hit graph then you go to y1 and put in the problem. Then you hit graph and it does it for you.

England p.1 caleb simpson first I would square 12 and 18 to the power of 4.12 would be 20,736. 18 would be 104,976. when you divide them both by for and your new dimension are 5,184 x 26,224.
12 times 18 equals 216
ReplyDelete216 times 4 equals 864
24 times 36 equals 864
The new dimension are 24 by 36 which makes area of 864.

ReplyDeleteIf you multiply 216 by 4 you get 864. Then you multiply 12 by 2 and 18 by 2 and get 24 and 36. Multiply them and you get the new dimension 864.

ReplyDelete12*18=216
216 is the area B e f o r e being enlarged.
216*4=864 the area AFTER being enlarged.
24*36=864.
24x26 would be the new dimensions.
The new dimensions would be 24 by 38 to get this...
ReplyDelete12*18=216
after multiplying 4
216*4=864
12+12=24 18+18=36
24 by 36
24*36=864
