A sixth-grade class sells Yankees pennants and American Flags. They earn $1 profit for each pennant sold and $6 for each flag sold. They sell items at a total of $92.
1) How many flags did they sell if they sold 20 pennants?
2) Create a different scenario of the amount of each item they could sell to equal $92.00 An example would be 1 flag and 86 pennants.
1. The sixth-graders sold 12 American flags.
ReplyDelete2. My scenario is if the 8th graders are having a fundraiser and their selling flags that are 6 dollars and pennants that are 1 dollar, and there goal is to reach 92 dollars. So the 8th graders would have sell 15 flags and 2 pennants.
The sixth grader sold 12 American flags.
ReplyDeleteMy second scenario is a 11 grader is selling candy 6$ a big pack, chips for 5$ $. There goal is 366 dollars so they would have to sell 61 big bags of candy and sell 73 bags of chips and eat a half of bag.
I mean 5 times 73.2 is 366 so that's why I put that

ReplyDeleteThe sixth graders sold 12 flags. My scenario, is a 5th grader is selling notebooks 1 subject for 1 dollar and 5 subject for 6 dollars. To reach 92 dollars they would need to sell 32 1 subject notebooks and 10 5 subject notebooks.
The 6th grades sold 12 flags.7th graders had 15 flags and 2 pennats to reach 92 dollars.
ReplyDeleteJackson 1. 1) The sixth graders sold 12 flags
ReplyDeleteScenario- 2) A teacher is raising money for a field trip by having students sell flags and pennants. Each flag is $6.00 while the pennants are $1.00. In all the class sold 9 flags and 38 pennants.
Scenario 1 the sixth grade sold 12 American flags. Scenario 2 a student was selling flags and pennants for a school fund raiser. The flags are 6.00 dollars and the pennants are 1 dollar. The student sold 5 flags and 62 pennants.
ReplyDelete1.) The sixth graders sold 12 flags.
ReplyDelete2.) A student sold flags and pennants, well the flags are $6.00 and the pennants are $1.00, so you could do 5flags and 62pennants.

ReplyDeleteThe students sold 12 flags.
I got this by doing 92-20=72.
Then I did 72/6=12.
Another scenario is 15 flags and 2 pendants.
Mr.Jackson period 1
ReplyDeletepennants=$1 flags=$6
1)$92.00-$20.00=$72.00
$72.00 divide $6.00=12 flags
They sold 12 flags if they sold 20 pennants.
2) $92.00-$12.00=$80.00
This example is the selling of 2 flags and 80 pennants.
Mr.Jackson period 1
ReplyDeletepennants=$1 flags=$6
1)$92.00-$20.00=$72.00
$72.00 divide $6.00=12 flags
They sold 12 flags if they sold 20 pennants.
2) $92.00-$12.00=$80.00
This example is the selling of 2 flags and 80 pennants.
1.$92-$20(20 pennant)=$72
ReplyDelete$72 divided by $6= 12 flags
2.$92-$24=$68
So if they sold 24 dollars worth of flags then they would've sold 6 flags and 68 pennants.

2.the scenario I came up with is they sold 4 flags for $24 and 68 pennants for $68 and $68 plus $24 is $92.
1.England period 2. If the sixth grade class sold 20 pennants which each cost one dollar, subtract $20 by $92 and you get $72. Then divide $72 by $6 and you get 12 flags sold.
ReplyDelete2. If they sold $27 worth of flags and $65 worth of pennants, and flags cost $3 each how many flags were sold? 9 flags were sold. Dominic Black

ReplyDeleteIf you were to sell 20 pennants would be $20. You would take the 20 from the 92 total and get 72. you would then divide the 72 by the 6 dollars for a flag to find that they sold 12 flags.
ReplyDeleteMy scenario would be 80 pennants and 2 flags. the flags would make $12 plus the $80 from pennants would give the $92

ReplyDelete1.) They sold 12 flags because 12 multiplied by 6 is 72. 72 plus 20 is $92.
