Grading Period 1, Week 3 (Due 9/16)

A sixth-grade class sells Yankees pennants and American Flags.  They earn $1 profit for each pennant sold and $6 for each flag sold.  They sell items at a total of $92.
 1) How many flags did they sell if they sold 20 pennants?

2) Create a different scenario of the amount of each item they could sell to equal $92.00  An example would be 1 flag and 86 pennants.

  1. 1. The sixth-graders sold 12 American flags.

    2. My scenario is if the 8th graders are having a fundraiser and their selling flags that are 6 dollars and pennants that are 1 dollar, and there goal is to reach 92 dollars. So the 8th graders would have sell 15 flags and 2 pennants.

  2. The sixth grader sold 12 American flags.

    My second scenario is a 11 grader is selling candy 6$ a big pack, chips for 5$ $. There goal is 366 dollars so they would have to sell 61 big bags of candy and sell 73 bags of chips and eat a half of bag.

    The sixth graders sold 12 flags. My scenario, is a 5th grader is selling notebooks 1 subject for 1 dollar and 5 subject for 6 dollars. To reach 92 dollars they would need to sell 32 1 subject notebooks and 10 5 subject notebooks.

    The students sold 12 flags.
    I got this by doing 92-20=72.
    Then I did 72/6=12.
    Another scenario is 15 flags and 2 pendants.

    pennants=$1 flags=$6

    1)$92.00-$20.00=$72.00
    $72.00 divide $6.00=12 flags
    They sold 12 flags if they sold 20 pennants.

    2) $92.00-$12.00=$80.00
    This example is the selling of 2 flags and 80 pennants.

    pennants=$1 flags=$6

    1)$92.00-$20.00=$72.00
    $72.00 divide $6.00=12 flags
    They sold 12 flags if they sold 20 pennants.

    2) $92.00-$12.00=$80.00
    This example is the selling of 2 flags and 80 pennants.

  13. 1.$92-$20(20 pennant)=$72
    $72 divided by $6= 12 flags

    2.$92-$24=$68
    So if they sold 24 dollars worth of flags then they would've sold 6 flags and 68 pennants.

  17. 1.England period 2. If the sixth grade class sold 20 pennants which each cost one dollar, subtract $20 by $92 and you get $72. Then divide $72 by $6 and you get 12 flags sold.

    2. If they sold $27 worth of flags and $65 worth of pennants, and flags cost $3 each how many flags were sold? 9 flags were sold. Dominic Black

    2.If the sixth grade students, sold twenty pennants, that cost a dollar, they would have sold 12 flags. 92 minus 20, is 72. 72 divided by 6 is 12. and there is your flag sales

  25. If you were to sell 20 pennants would be $20. You would take the 20 from the 92 total and get 72. you would then divide the 72 by the 6 dollars for a flag to find that they sold 12 flags.
    My scenario would be 80 pennants and 2 flags. the flags would make $12 plus the $80 from pennants would give the $92
