This is a two part question
If you buy 5 candy bars and a bag of $4.00 gummy worms, the variable expression 5c + 4 represents the total cost of the purchase.
1) If your bill came to $21.00 how much did each candy bar cost?
Suppose the next day you went back to the store and bought 3 DVDs and a video game for $30. 2) Write a variable expression to represent this purchase
(1. The answer is $5.25

ReplyDeleteIf you spent 21 dollars each candy bar would cost 3 dollars and 40 cents. I got $3.40 because 21 minus 4 equals 17 and 17 divided by 5 is 3.40 2) 3d+30
Jackson 1. 1) If you bought 5 candy bars and a pack of 4.00 gummy worms and the total cost is 21.00 the candy bar would be $3.40. This is because if u subtract $4.00 from $21.00 you would get 17 therefore resulting in division where you would end up getting 3.40 from 17.00 divided by 5.00.
ReplyDelete2) the equation would be 3d+30 because you don't no the cost of the dvds.
1.) If you buy 5 can't bars and one bag of funny bears for $4 and use the equation 5c+4 would equal up too $1.09 for each can't bae you bought.
ReplyDelete2.) The equation would be 3d+$30 because you dont know what the cost of each DVD is.

If the bill cam up to 21.00 then each candy bar would come to 3.40. Now how i got that is 21 minus 4 equal 17 and 17 divided 5 is 3.40.

ReplyDeleteThe candy bars cost $3.40. I got this by using the equation 5c+4=21. First I subtracted 21 by 4 and I got 17 and i divided that by 5 and I got $3.40. The equation is 3d+c=30
1) Well, if my bill came to $21.00, $4 worth of gummy worms, and I bought 5 candy bars, then the candy bars must cost $3.40 each. I got $3.40 by subtracting 4 from 21 (to get the amount in which the gummy worms made) to get 17, and then divided 17 by 5,and in total, I got $3.40. So, in a complete sentence, the cost of each candy bar was $3.40. :)
ReplyDelete2) I thought of two ways I could answer this question. One, it could be 3d+30. Two, it could be something like v for the video game plus 3 of the dvds, and it would equal up to $30. v+3=30 or 1v+3d=30 I'm not sure which one may be correct, but those are my answers.

1.) Each candy bar would be $3.40 because $21.00-4=$17.00 and $17.00/5=3.40
2.) The variable expression I got was 1v+3d=$30.00
1.)Each candy bar would be $3.40 because 3.40*5=17.00 and 17.00+4.00=21.00.
ReplyDelete2.) It would be 3d+30 because you have 3 DVD's and you don't know the cost of each DVD so that would make it 3d plus the 30 dollars.

England period 2. If the total cost of the candy bars and the gummy worms is $21.00, each candy bar costs $3.40. You multiply 5 by $3.40 and get $17.00. You then add the cost of the gummy worms to the cost of the candy bars which brings you to $21.00.
ReplyDelete2) You go to the store and buy 3 DVDs and a video game. The video game costs $15.00. How much does each DVD cost.

The variable expression will be 3D+30. 3d represent the dvd and video game you bought and the 30 is how is you spend or total.
First you would subtract the total bill 21.00$ by the gummy bears 21.00-4.00=17 then divide by 5 which equals 3.40. So each candy bar cost 3.40$ 3d+30 would be the variable expression for if you bought 3 DVDS and a video game for 30$ dollars. Zack Shumway pd 4
