Grading Period 2 Week 6 (Due 12/11)
Jessica is trying to convince her coach that she is shooting better from the free throw line than last year. Last year she made 40 out of 50 free throws. This year Jessica has made 74 out of 100 free throws. Is Jessica right that she is actually shooting better from the free throw line this year? Explain

Well if you do 50-40 thats 10 and if you do 100-74 its 26. So she missed 26 free throws this year but only missed 10 last year. So therefore she is not doing better this year she is doing worse.

ReplyDeleteJessica is not doing better because last year she made 40 out of 50 and if u take 50-40=10. And this year she made 74 out of 100. And if you take 100-74= 26 so she is not doing better.

ReplyDeleteJessica is incorrect, she did not improve from last year. Subtracting 50-40 which is 10. Subtracting 100-74 which is 26. she did well last year than this year. She missed 10 last year and 26 this year.

ReplyDeleteJessica is not shooting better.
I figured this out by dividing 40 by 50 which is 0.8 x100 equals 80 which is 80%.
If you divide 74 by 100 it's 74%.
This case Jessica is not shooting better.

ReplyDeletelast year 40 out 50 shots the year 74 out of 100shots 2x50=80 last year and 2x50=100 would be 80 % this year 74% Jessica shot free throws better last year ,(at 80%) than this year (at 74%)
she made 40-50 shoots which is 80% good and this year 74-100 which is 74% good but she did better last year she played because the shoot is different because last year was 50 shots and this year was 100 shots...
ReplyDeleteso she didn't do better..
DeleteJessica did better last year. I know this because I divided 40 by 50 which gave .8 which is 80%. Then I divided 74 by 100 which gave me 74%. So Jessica shot better last year then this year.
ReplyDeleteShe did better last year because 40 out of 50 is 80%. This year she made 74 out of 100 is which is 74%. 80% is greater than 74% so then she did better last year.

ReplyDeleteNo I think that she did better last year because she made 40 out of 50 so her percent was 80 percent and this year she made 75 out of 100 so her percent for this year is 74 percent and 80 percent is more than 74 percent
ReplyDeleteI mean 74 out of 100

ReplyDeleteJessica did better last year. I found this answer by taking the 40 out of 50 from last year and converted it too 80 out of 100, which is 80%. I got this answer by multiplying it by 2. Then I compared it to the 74 out of 100 (74%) from this year.
Jessica shot better last year. I know this because she shot 80% of her shots last year. This year she only shot 74% of her shots.

Jackson 1: Jessica did not approve from last year, so she is incorrect. I got this answer by subtracting 50-40 which is 10. Then I subtracted 100-74 and the answer is 26. So, she did better last year than this year. Jessica missed 10 points last year whilst she missed 26 this year.

ReplyDeleteJessica did better last year than she did this year. Last year she made 80% because 40/50 is 80/100. This Year she made 76% because 76/100 is 76%
80% is greater than 76%.
ReplyDeleteJessica was wrong she did better last year. I know this because last year she got 40/50 which equals .8 or 80%. This year she got 74/100 which equals .74
or 74%.
