GP 3 Week 5 (Due 2/8)

At a baby shower, we started discussing baby statistics. One of the women told us she had heard a report that for every 100 babies born, there were 6 more boys than girls. If we were to randomly pick a child from a representative group, what is the probability of picking a girl?

  31. In class this week, we learned how to add exponents as well as subtracting and multiplying them. For example, 7^2 * 7^3= is 7^5, you add the exponents together. The same thing happens when the expression is division but with subtraction, for example, 7^5 * 7^3= 7^2.

  32. This week in math class, we learned how to add, subtract, and define zero and negative exponents. To add exponents the bases would have to be the same number, for example, 7^3*7^5=7^8. If you have a negative exponent, then you would bring the negative exponent to the bottom(denominator). An example is 5^-2, to change the exponent to a positive you would write 1/5^2.
