Ben was a salesman at a car dealership where he made $10 per hour and $50 for every sale he made. David worked at the same job and got paid $20 per hour. If Ben worked 10 hours and sold 2 cars in a week, how many hours would David have to work to make more money than Ben?
Would you rather have a contract like Ben's or like David's? Why?
Ben gets paid $10 per hour and $50 per sale, David gets paid $20 per hour and has exact same job as Ben so if Ben works for 10 hours and sold 2 cars he would make $300 in one week. David would have to work 10 more hours to have more money than Ben. I would choose Ben.

ReplyDeleteJackson 1) Ben would make $200 if he sold 2 cars and worked 10 hours. To make the exact amount David would have to work ten hours because he makes $20 per hour and wouldn't have to sell any cars to make more money he could work 11 hours for $220 dollars. I would choose David because he makes more money than and Ben would have to work twice as many hours.

ReplyDeleteDavid makes $20 per hour but doesn't get paid for each car he sells. Ben gets paid $10 per hour but gets paid $50 per car sale.Ben would make $200 if he worked 10 hours and sold 2 cars.To make the same amount of money David would have to work 11 hours if he wanted to make more money than Ben that week. I would rather have a contract like David's because he can makes more money an hour so he doesn't have to work as many hours to make money.

ReplyDeleteDavid would have to work an extra hour to make more than Ben. If he works that extra hours he will be at $220 dollars with no cars sold.
I would rather have David's contract, because I would rather make $20 dollars per hour than $10 dollars per hour.
Ben gets paid $10 each our he works & David gets paid $20 per hour with the same job. I would choose Ben's contract. I would choose his because if Ben sold 2 cars he would make $200. David would have to work 11 if he wanted to make more money than Ben.

Ben makes $10 an hour and $50 for each car he sells which equals $200 for the week. David makes $20 an hour but does not make any money if he sells any cars. I would rather rather have a contract like David's because if he doesn't sell any cars her will still make $20 an hour. Ben will only make $10 an hour if he doesn't sell any cars so I would rather have David's contract.

ReplyDeleteWell David makes $20 but does not really get paid for the car he sells. Ben makes $10 per hour and gets paid $50. but Ben makes could make up to $200 if he just worked 10 hours and sell 2 cars. Well David has to would have to work 11 hours and make more money than Ben. I would take David contract because he makes more money an hour.

ReplyDeleteDavid would have to work 10 hours because $20•10=$200 and that's how much Ben makes so if he works for 11 hours which would be $20•11, he would make $220 which is more than Ben. I know this because Ben makes $10/hr so $10•10=100 plus the two cars he sold ($50/car), he would have $200. I would have Ben's Job because I get money for selling cars.

ReplyDeleteIf David wants to make more money then Ben, then David would have to work 1 more hour than Ben. I would rather have a contract like David because he don't have to sell any car and have the same money as Ben. And if Ben didn't sell the 2 cars then he would only have 100 dollars

David would have to work 10 more hours, 20•10=200 thats how much Ben makes, if David works for 11 more hours it would be 20•11=220 and that's more than Ben, ben makes $10 a hour 10•10=100 and the two cars he sold $100 he will have $200. I want Ben contract because he gets money for the cars he sales and his pay a hour.

ReplyDeleteDavid would have to work 10 hours. I got this by first doing 10*10=100. Then by doing 50+50=100 Then 100+100=200. Then I did 200 divided by 20 equals 10. I would want Davids job because he is still making more than Ben if Ben doesnt sell any cars.

Ben made $10 per hour and $50 for every car he sold . And David make $20 per hour. So if ben would make $200 if he work 10 hour and sold 2 car. David had to work 10hour to got to ben amount. I would go with he Daivd contract because i sure i getting the hourly paid even if i don't sell any car.

ReplyDeleteFirst you find that Ben made $200 in a week. You then divide it by Davids $20 an hour. From then you find that David would have to work 10 hours.

Ben would make $200 for selling 2 cars and working 10 hours. (10•10=100) If David wants to make more than Ben he needs to work 11 hours($20•11=$220). I would Ben's job because he makes more money for selling cars.

England 2. If Ben worked 10 hours and made 2 sales this is how you would solve. Ben gets paid 10 dollars an hour, he has worked 10 hours, 10 times 10 = 100. Ben made 2 sales, he gets $50 per sale, $50 times 2 = 100. $100+$100 =$200. David would have to 11 hours to make more than Ben. $20x11 = $220. I would rather have Davids contract because if Ben didn't make any sales, I would only have to work 6 hours to make more than Ben.
