  8. Everyone above is incorrect. You need to try again. You need to label your answer. Is it 90 tons or 90 pounds? Here's a hint.... 2000 pounds = 1 ton.

    The Statue of Liberty will weigh 180,00 pounds on Mercury. I found my answer by fisrt 5/2 = 2.5 then i i did 225/2.5 = 90 then i did 90 X 2000.

  10. You have to do 225 x 2000 = 450000 x 2 = 900000 / 5 = 180000
The statue of liberty weighs 180000 on Mercury

On mercury, the statue weighs 90 tons. I converted 225 tons to 450,000 pounds. I set up the proportion 5 over 450,000 equals 2 over x. Then, I cross multiplied and divided and got 180,000. I then converted 180,000 pounds to 90 tons.

  14. If 2,000 pounds go into 1 ton and the statue weighs 225 tons then I would have to multiply 2000 times 225. When I did that I got 450,000. Then I had to multiply 450,000 times 2 since everything weighs 2 pounds on mercury if it was 5 pounds on earth. So it would weigh 900,000 pounds.

  20. On mercury the statue of liberty weighs 90 ton. Since 2,000 pounds equals 1 ton. I turned 225 tons into 450,000 pounds. With my information i set up a proportionI 5 over 450,000 equals 2 over X. I crossed multiplied and divided and got the answer of 180,000. I divided 180,000 and 2,000 and got 90, which means it is 90 tons.

I turned 225 tons in to 450,000 pounds.
    Than turned it into a proportaion as 5/450,000 = 2/x = 180,000.
Divide by 2,000 becuase 2,000 pounds = 1 ton and you get 90 tons.

  27. The Statue of Liberty will weigh 180,00 pounds in Mercury. I got my answer by dividing 5 by 2 to get to get 2.5. Then I did 225 divided by 2.5 to get 90. After that I multiply 90 and 2000 to get 180,000

  28. You Turn 225 tons in to 450,000 pounds.
    Then turn it into a proportaion as 5/450,000 = 2/x = 180,000.
    Divide by 2,000.
    And You Get 90 Tons.

  30. I agree with samarius on mercury the statue of liberty weighs 90 tons thats alot. and 2,000 pounds is equal to 1 ton 225 tons is 450,000 punds. a proprtion is 5 over 450,000 then i crossed multiplied and then divided and thats how i got my answer. the anser is 180,000 then divide that in half and its 90 tons
