GP 4 Week 5 Reflection (DUE 5/1)
In the old days there were elevator operators to transport passengers. Don Downs always started his day in the basement. He went up 20 floors to take his boss some coffee. Then he went down 8 floors to take a Danish to his friend. He went up 7 floors to check things out. This was the halfway point in the building. How many floors are in this building?

ReplyDeleteThe basement is 0 then he goes up 20 floors to floor 20. Next, he goes down 8 floors to the 12th floor. Lastly, he goes up 7 more floors to the 19th floor. To find how many floors there are multiply 19 by 2. There are 38 floors in the building (not including the basement).

The basement will be at 0 then he goes up 20 floors to floor 20. Next, he will go down 8 floors to the 12th floor. Lastly, he will go up 7 more floors to the 19th floor. To get how many floors there are multiply 19 by 2. There are 39 floors in the building.

To find my answer i had to think about what the problem was asking me. At first i thought it was 20 floors but it didn't make sense and it didin't match up to the equation. So i added 20 + 8 + 7= 35. There are 35 floors all togethor.

ReplyDeleteThere are 38 floors in the building because since he first went up 20 floors, then went down 8 floors, (20-8=12) and then went up 7 floors (12+7=19) you would double the 19 because that was the halfway point. (19x2=38) There are 38 floors in the building.
Multiply 19 x 2 = 38 floors not including the basement

ReplyDeleteThere are 38 flors in the bulding.I figured this out by doing 20-8+7=19. It said this was the middle of the bulding so multiply 19 by 2 and you get 38.

ReplyDeleteThere are 38 floors in the building. I found my answer by starting from 0 then i added 20 next i subtracted 8 20-8=12. Then i did 12+7=19. Finally i did 19 X 2=38.

ReplyDeleteThere are ?? floors in the building. He was at 0 because he, was in the basement floor so then he when to the 20th floor, then goes down 8, then back up 7, so now the man is at the 19th floor. Now to find out how many floors it is in the building all you do is. 20-8+7=19. then you times 19x2=? and you will get 38. 38 is the number of floors, in the building.

ReplyDeleteHow I found out how many floors there are I did 19 x 2 and got 38. So there are 38 floors excluding the basement. The basement is 0, He goes up 20 floors. Then he goes to the 12th floor by going down 8. Then he goes to the 19th floor by going up 7 more floors.

ReplyDeleteThe basement is floor 0, he went up 20 floors to get to floor 20. Then he went down 8 floors to to get to floor 12. Last he went up 7 floors to get to floor 19. To find out how many floors there were I multiplied 19 x 2=38.

He started on floor 0 then he travled 20 floors up. He went down to get coffee 8 floors. So right now he is on floor 12.Now he went up 7 floors. Now he should be at floor 19. Since he reached the half way point you times 19 by 2 which equals 38 floors in total.

ReplyDeleteDon starts on floor 0, goes up 20, goes down 8, goes back up 7. Equation: 20-8+7=19. The halfway point floor is 19. Equation: 19+19=38. There are 38 total floors in the building.
Don had started on the floor zero. He had then traveled up 20 floors. He had then went down 8 floors from floor 20. He is currently at floor 12 and he now went up 7 floors. He would be at floor 19. Since he had reach his half way point. You would multiply 19 with 2 and you would get 38 floors in total. This is how I gotten my answer.
ReplyDeleteDon started on floor 0. He went up 20 floors. He went down 8. He's now at 12 then went up 7 then now he would be at 19. You time 19 and 2 to get 38.

ReplyDeleteHe starts on floor 0. He starts to go up 20, down 8, then back up 7, making 20-8+7=19. When you take 19 and add it to 19 making the total of 38 floors.
