A sixth-grade class sells Yankees pennants and American Flags. They earn $1 profit for each pennant sold and $6 for each flag sold. They sell items at a total of $92.
1) How many flags did they sell if they sold 20 pennants?
2) Create a different scenario of the amount of each item they could sell to equal $92.00 An example would be 1 flag and 86 pennants.
If they sold twenty pennants they would have sold 16 flags. I found this out because 8 times 9 equals 72 therefore 24 times 3 also equals 72 and the only multiple of 8 between 8 and 24 is 16 and the only multiple of 3 between 3 and 9 is 6 so that means that 16 times 6 equals 72. Another way that they could get $92 would be to sell 32 pennants and 10 flags. A third way they could get $92 is to sell 5 flags and 62 pennants.

Delete92-20=72 divided by 6=12 so 12.

DeleteThey sold 12 flags, because $92 minus $20 from the pennants equals $72, which divided by 6 equals $12.

ReplyDeleteThey sold 11 flags. I know this because every pennant costs a dollar, so if you sell 20 pennants, you have 20 dollars. You subtract 92 from 20, which gives you 76 dollars left for flags. Each flag costs $6. 76 divided by 6 is in decimal form, but it comes down to 11 dollars.

Deleteignore this please i messed up.
Delete1) They sold 12 flags. I know this because each pennant is one dollar, so 20 pennants is twenty dollars. Then, I subtracted 20 form 92 and got 72. Finally, I divided 72 by 6 because each flag is 6 dollars and got the cost of 12 flags.
ReplyDelete2) Another way you could get 92 dollars is by having buying 2 pennants and 15 flags
1.
ReplyDeleteThe sixth grade class sold 12 flags. I know this because if each pennant is a dollar, and they sold twenty pennants, then I'd have to subtract $20 from the $92 dollars they made, leaving me with $72 dollars. With that $72 dollars, to get the answer all I would have to do is divide it by 6. Because the six is the amount of money they sold the flags at, the product of 72 divided by 6 is 12, that would mean that there was 12 flags sold
2.
Another way to get $92 dollars by selling the flags and pennants would be to sell 10 flags, and 32 pennants. Because the flags are $6 dollars each, then the ten flags would add up to $60 dollars, and the added $32 dollars made from selling the pennants would add up that money to $96.
1. The sixth grade class sold 12 flags. I know this because each pennant is $1, so 20 pennants would be $20. 92-20 would be $72,and since each flag is $6 we would have to divide $72 by $6, and that would leave us 12 flags.
ReplyDelete2. Another way to get $92 from selling pennants and flags would be selling 70 pennants 2 flags. 70 pennants would add up to $70 and 2 flags add up to $12. Adding $70 and $12 together, we would get $92.
1. The sixth grade class sold 20 pennant at 1$ each so that is 20$. The total amount of money they earned was 92$ so you subtract 20$ from 92$ and you will get 72$. Now you need to find out how many flags you can buy with 72$ so I divided 72 by 6 and got 12. So that means they sold 12 flags.
ReplyDelete2. Another way to get 92$ is if they sold 2 flags that would be 12$. Then if they sold 80 pennants that would be 80$. When you add those two up you get 92$.
1) They sold 12 flags. This is because each of the pennants is a $1. So that means 20 pennants is $20. You have to subtract 20 from 92 and get 72. And divide 72 by 6 and it is 12. So 12 flags got sold.
ReplyDelete2) Another way to get 92 is to sell 62 pennants and 5 flags.

ReplyDeleteThey sold 46 flags. Because when u divide 92 by 2 its 46. And i divided the numbers.
I started by subtracting 20 dollars from the 92 dollars and got 72 dollars. Then i divided 6 from 72 and got 12.So there were exactly 12 flags sold by the sixth graders.
ReplyDeleteThe sixth grade class sold 12 flags. The reason is because every pennant they buy cost $1.If they sold 20 pennants the total cost of the pennants is $20.They sold 20 pennants,if you subtract 20-92=it would equal 72.If you divide 72 and 6 it would equal 12 so it's 12 flags.

They would sell 12 flags because 20 flags is 20 dollars and 92-20=72 and 72 divided by 6 is 12 so 12 flags.
ReplyDeleteNevaeh Perkins Cox: They would sell 12 flags because 20 flags is 20 dollars and 92-20=72 and 72 divided by 6 is 12 so they sold 12 flags.
DeleteNevaeh Perkins Cox: If they bought 68 pennants and 24 flags it would be 92 dollars because 68+24=92.

ReplyDeleteThe six grade class sold 20 pennants and 12 flags. I know this because each pennant cost 1 dollar, so thats 20$. 20$ minus 92$ equals 72$, if you divide 72 by 6 that equals 12 flags.
if they buy 68 pennants and 24 flags it will equal 92. 68+24=92 92-24=68.

ReplyDelete1.) The class would have sold 12 flags. I know because they already earned $20 from the peanuts and $92-$20 would equal $72. Then $72/$6 would be 12.
2.) A different way for them to come up with $92 were to sell 62 peanuts and 5 flags. The 62 peanuts would make $62, $92-$62 is 30. Then 30/6 would be the 5 flags.
la'crisa harris period 1- if they sold 20 pennants then that's $20 and then they need to sell 12 flags to make $72 and then they have $92. Another way to do this is if they sold 2 flags and 85 pennants
ReplyDeletefloyd schulte you need to sell 12 flags then 72 then 92.
ReplyDelete1.) The class sold 12 flags. I know this because they earned $20 already so they had to sell 12 flags to make $72 and then they would have $92.
ReplyDelete2.) Another way to do this is if they sold 5 flags and 62 peanuts. This would make 30/6 of the 5 flags.
They sold 12 flags. 20 flags is 20 dollars because each flag cost $1. 92 minus 20 is 72. Then you divide 72 by 6 and you get 12. They sold 12 flags.
ReplyDelete1.They sold 12 flags.
ReplyDelete2.2 flags and 80 pennant.
The sixth grade class sold 12 flags.Another scanerio is selling 46 flags which equal 92.00.
ReplyDelete1.) The six grade class sold 12 flags. I know this because if you subtract the $20 (pennants) from the total $92, you get $72. Since the class earns $6 for every flag, by dividing $72/6, that would equal 12. Meaning the class sold 12 flags with the 20 pennants.
ReplyDelete2.) Another scenario is if the class sold 10 flags and 32 pennants. (10 x 6)+32=$92

ReplyDeleteIf they sold 20 pennants they sold 12 flags.I know this because first you subtract 20 from 92 and get 72.Then you divide 72 by 6 since each flag is $6.Finally the answer is 12.
Another scenario sell that would come to $92 is 32 pennant and 10 flags.I know this because first you subtract 32 from 92 and get 60.Then you divide 60 by 6 and get 10.

ReplyDeleteThey sold a total of 12 flags. If they sold 20 pennants and each of them cost a dollar than that's $20.$92 subtracted by $20 is $72.If each flag is $6 than you have to find what multiplied by 6 equals 72 and 6 time 12 is 72.
If they sold 6 flags and 50 pennants would get them to $92.

ReplyDeletethey sold $12 flags they sold $20 pennants i know this because first you subtract $20 from $92 and get $72 then you divide $72 by $6 since each flag is $6 and the answer is $12.
ReplyDeleteThe sixth grade class a total of 12 flags. i know this because if they earn a dollar for each 20 pennants, you would have to times 20 by 1 which gives you $20.Then you subtract the $92 from the $20 which would give you $72, then divide by 6 which would give you 12, so they sold 12 flags.

The sixth grade class sold 12 flags. I know because they earn a dollar for each 20 pennants. First I subtract $20 from $92 and get $72 then I divide $72 by $6 since each flag is $6 and the answer is $12.
ReplyDeleteThe sixth grade class sold 11 flags. I know because each pennant is 1 dollar so 20 pennants would be $20. 92-20 would be $76,and since each flag is $6 we would have to divide $76 by $6, and that would leave us 11 flags.
ReplyDelete2. Another way to get $92 from selling pennants and flags would be selling 70 pennants 2 flags. 70 pennants would add up to $70 and 2 flags add up to $12. Adding $70 and $12 together, we would get $92.

ReplyDeleteThe sixth grade class sold 12 flags, i know because each pennant is $1. So if if there is 20 pennants than it would be $20. 92-20 =72 and each flag is $6 so 72/6 = 12 flags.
Another way way to get $92 from selling the pennants is by selling 38 pennants which equals $38 and 9 flags which would be $54, once you combine those you will have $92. 38+54=92
ReplyDelete1.They sold 12 flags so once they sold 20 pernnants. Each one costed $1 so the total would be $20 or $92. That would be $72 dollars because $72/$6 equals $12 so your answer and the total you have left is $12. cheryl washington per 1
